Hoping to defend the NWAC Southern Region title in 2017, Clark College women's soccer coach
Sean Janson has announced the commitments of 13 student-athletes for the upcoming season. Eight incoming freshman hail from Washington and five from Oregon. These freshman join 9 returning sophomores on the 2017 roster.
Clark compiled a 14-3-1 overall record last year, including an 11-0-1 record in league play. The team won its first Southern Region Championship and lost in NWAC quarterfinals 1-2 to North Idaho.
Molly Joyce (Brookings HS) was awarded NWAC Player of the Year honors and was joined on the NWAC All-Star team by fellow freshman

Maddy Topaum – Barlow HS
A 3-year Varsity letter winner, Maddy received 6 Mt.Hood Conference league awards her junior and senior year. She led her high school team as the highest scoring midfielder her senior year. Maddy is the captain of her Eastside Timbers 98'G team and plans to earn her AA at Clark and work towards a Master's Degree in Elementary Education.Â

Janae Grimm – Black Hills HS
Janae suffered a torn ACL early in her senior season at Black Hills, but is expected to return in time for Fall season. She plays left and right outside back, for both her High School and club, Black Hills FC. She is excited to join the Clark College family!

Jasmine Brewer – Sandy HS
Jasmine helped Sandy HS capture the league title in her senior season and was awarded first team all-league honors. She plans to major in psychology and pursue a career in law enforcement.

Julie Williams – Mt. View HS
A 4-year varsity starter and scholar athlete, Julie was first team all-league her senior season. She played club for FC Salmon Creek where she won a state championship and competed in the NPL national finals in 2016. Julie chose to attend Clark because of its nursing & soccer programs. She plans to earn her bachelor's in nursing.

Sarah Teubner – Sprague HS
Sarah come to Clark as a decorated high school athlete earning 13 varsity letters including 4 from soccer at Sprague high school. She was 1
st team All-State, Conference Player of the Year, and her team finished state runner-up, her senior year.

Samantha Rosenkranz – Union HS
Samantha competed in varsity Cross Country and Track at Union high school and played club soccer for the Washington Timbers. Over the next two years she aims to complete an Associate in Science Transfer Degree with a Biology concentration, with an intention of transferring to a four year institution with a pre-health option.

Jazmin Rojas – McMinnville HS
Jazmin earned first-team Greater Valley Conference honors in her senior year at McMinnville high school. She was also recognized as the school's athlete of the year her junior year. She plans to study in the health pathway to be either a physical therapist or an athletic trainer. Jazmin chose to attend Clark because it's a good environment and she has a heard a lot of good things about the community. She's also very excited to be a part of a great soccer program.

Claire Gilroy – Skyview HS
A strong utility player who joins Clark from the Westside Timbers. She also played competitively for FC Portland and Pacific FC before the last 4 seasons at Westside. She is one of the few original players on her team, striving to lead by example in commitment and passion. She also played for Skyview High School all 4 years, lettering in both soccer and track.
Personal: Born in Tualatin, OR; parents, David and Jennifer, and one brother, Conner, who plays soccer for Corban University. She plans to pursue her 4-year degree after Clark in ASL Interpreting

Bailee McMahon – Mt. View HS
As the defensive MVP and first team all-league selection, Bailee had a phenomenal senior season at Mt. View high school. She plays for the Washington Timbers and has a 3.0 GPA. While at Clark, Bailee hopes to get the best grades she's ever received and figure out what she wants in life. She chose to come to Clark because it's close to home, a smaller community that would benefit her education, it saves money, and can prepare her for life or in a bigger college later on.. Bailee was also impressed with Clark's history of sending players on to four year universities and hopes to learn a lot from the coaches and players.

Lacey Jones – David Douglas HS
Lacey played varsity soccer for four years at David Douglas High School, and received All League Honorable Mention twice and All League Second Team twice. She was the leading scorer for the team all 4 years, with 41 goals. Between club (Washington Timbers) and high school soccer she received Offensive MVP 4 times and Team MVP once. Throughout high school, Lacey has maintained a 3.85 GPA, and in the future plans to earn her bachelor's degree, but is currently undecided on a field of study.

Maggie Higgins – Mark Morris HS
Maggie is a 4-year varsity letter winner at Mark Morris high school. She was 2nd team all-league and honorable mention TDN goal keeper of the year for 2016. She served as captain of both high school and club teams and won a state championship with FC Portland in 2015. Maggie plans to receive a bachelor's of applied science in dental hygiene.Â

Kayla Beard – Battle Ground HS
Kayla is a 3-year varsity letter winner and served as team captain her senior year. She was voted Most Inspirational and Player of the Year by my teammates and earned Scholar Athlete all four years for maintaining a 3.8 or better GPA. Kayla plans to complete her AA Degree at Clark, then transfer to a university to continue her education.Â

Taylor Housden - Aberdeen HS
Taylor comes to Clark with an impressive resume from her time at Aberdeen high school. Second team all-league as a freshman, she was a first-team selection three years in a row, Offensive MVP as a sophomore and junior, and overall league MVP as a senior. Taylor will not only be asked to score goals, while at Clark, but to also create opportunities for her teammates. In addition to her athletic achievements, Taylor is a four-year scholar athlete and holds a 3.8 GPA.
